TimeSpan (“the App”, “we”, “us”; also referred to in technical identifiers as Spanoe) is a countdown and date-tracking app. We care about your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App processes, why it does so, and your choices.
The App stores the following primarily on your device:
Technical note: This data is stored using SwiftData and UserDefaults, and may be stored in an App Group container so the main app and widgets can access the same database and shared image cache.
If you choose a cover or background image, the App reads the photo you select (for example via the system photo picker), optionally lets you crop it, and stores the processed image locally as part of the event (including in the App Group for widgets). We do not upload your photos to our servers.
If you use calendar import or holiday sync features, the App requests access to your system calendars and may read calendar events (including holidays and other events you choose to import) to create or update countdown entries in the App. We do not upload your calendar data to our servers.
If you enable reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device. We do not send marketing remote push notifications.
If you enable iCloud/CloudKit sync, the App may register for silent remote notifications so Apple’s CloudKit can keep your data in sync. These are system sync signals, not user-facing marketing messages.
Home Screen and related widgets read countdown and period data (and optional event images) from the shared App Group store on your device so they can display progress without opening the App. Widget data stays on your device unless you enable iCloud sync as described below.
If you purchase TimeSpan Pro (subscription and/or lifetime unlock, as offered in the App), Apple processes the payment. We use StoreKit to determine your entitlement status. We do not receive your full payment details.
If you enable iCloud/CloudKit syncing (a Pro feature), your app data may be stored in your iCloud account and synced across your devices. Apple acts as a service provider for iCloud/CloudKit under Apple’s policies.
If you choose to send feedback, the App may open your email client (for example via mailto:). The content of that email is handled by your email provider, not by our servers.
Depending on what features you use, the App may request:
You can change permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
As of this version, the App does not include third-party advertising SDKs or analytics SDKs. Purchases and (if enabled) iCloud sync are provided by Apple.
We rely on iOS security features (such as device passcode/biometrics managed by the system, app sandboxing, and iCloud security) to help protect your data. We follow platform best practices and minimize data access.
The App is not intended for children under the age where parental consent is required. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, please contact us.
Your data is processed on your device and, if iCloud/CloudKit is enabled, stored in Apple’s infrastructure, which may be located in other countries.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above.
